Today was the day time travel was invented. Long live Doc Brown.
a day late but hey, when was that ever a problem, right?
Chart of the Day: “Explicit Support for Same-Sex Marriage by State and Age” (pdf) by Jeff Lax and Justin Phillips of the Department of Political Science at Columbia University. Created using data collected for a joint paper on gay rights.
Prof. Lax breaks it down:
Seven states cross the 50% mark overall as of our current estimates, but the generation gap is huge. If policy were set by state-by-state majorities of those 65 or older, none would allow same-sex marriage. If policy were set by those under 30, only 12 states would not allow-same-sex marriage.

been hearing fireworks go off all day - just got up to room (after a whole day of studying, it feels like jc all over again) and went out on balcony but i can’t see any. maybe it’s because i’m facing the inner city.
was supposed to get:
- yoghurt
- juice
- grapes, peaches
- milk
- washing powder
instead got:
- lots of beer (single bottles were reduced to clear - what??? we were stocking up for post-finals celebrations! it makes sense!)
- a crate of ginger beer
- nutella
- oh, and the milk. i get points for remembering that at least, don’t i?

that’s right you put em cops in their place!
i can’t wait for exams to be over. we’re thinking of driving to piha/coromandel/some other beach and camping on it.
it looks like no matter what i do i’m doomed to have a horrible timetable. still agonising over subjects though:
- taking both the stage 2 politics classes i want. no clash so far (despite four 8am starts a week, /wrist /wrist), even with that soci/crim class added.
- the law class i need to take isn’t being offered next sem —> enough credits to take something else instead!
- but what do i do with this extra paper? should i do macroecons (i’ll already be doing microecons, since it’s my second major), that one pesky math paper i have to take (for econs; boring and easy/more interesting but harder one?) or my last gen ed paper?
- am also still tossing up between papers for my last gen ed course: a language (french, german, latin, greek? or i could do polish/croatian/russian for sheer lulz), astronomy, physics; the choices, they defeat me ;_;
