Or that they found out would bankrupt their family with medical bills and require lifelong care to the detriment of its older siblings (or that would prevent the family from ever having the chance to have another child). Or that they found was going to kill the mother if she attempted to carry it to term. Or maybe a picture of a husband and children at the funeral of a woman whose life could have been saved by a late-term abortion.

It fucking infuriates me that the anti-choice folks choose to exploit these tragedies and villainize the women (and only the women, as if we live in a vacuum with no family, husbands, partners, or other children) who have to go through a procedure that, in my opinion, sounds pretty damn traumatic on its own.

As if there are women out there who just can’t fucking wait to murder their babies. As if late-term abortions are common-place and normal (hint: they’re fucking NOT—there are relatively strict controls on the procedure). And don’t even get me started on the fact that many of the procedures that are lumped into the “partial-birth abortion” statistics are actually procedures that were performed to remove an already dead baby (maybe they could wrap their head around the pain of a late-term miscarriage).

Fuck these people. Fuck their mysogyny. Fuck their hatefulness. Fuck their habit of being oh-so-concerned for “the unborn” with no consideration at all for any people in a situation who are old enough to have an opinion on the matter.

but i am only momentarily diverted. you guys have to watch this show. it helps that the guy is basically BLAZING BONFIRE OF AWESOME, but the show has a LEADING FEMALE CHARACTER who is three-dimensional and kicks ass (how rare is that nowadays) like literally, and the sexual tension and chemistry between the both of them? is literally discomfiting. like, wow. trails into incoherent blather. thursday 8.30 pm (right after polo boys)!

it is also extremely campy and full of cheese (e.g. richard leaping off an outcrop… sword glinting… to dramatically fend of evil d’harans…. framed in slow-mo and very dramatic music…) which make it so much fun to occasionally just point and laugh. AWESOME. like when he is ~named the seeker~? LIGHTNING DARTS OUT OF THE SKY AND STRIKES HIS SWORD. i laughed for two minutes straight.
